Delete your Mesob Equb account
Mesob Equb app (com.mesobequb.app) and web app · provided by Mesob Financial Technology PLC
You can ask us to delete your Mesob Equb account and the personal data linked to it at any time. You do not need to give a reason.
How to request deletion
- Email admin@mesobequb.com with the subject "Delete my Mesob Equb account", or call +251 971 999 997 from your registered phone number. Include your full name and the phone number you registered with.
- We confirm that the request comes from you by sending a one-time code to your registered phone number, or by calling you on it.
- We delete your account within 30 days of confirming your identity and let you know when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your name, email address, home address (region, zone, city, kebele) and password.
- Your language preference and your notifications.
- Your access to the app: you will no longer be able to sign in.
What is kept, and for how long
- Records of your payments, draws and payouts, and the receipt images that support them. The law requires us to keep financial records, and the other members of your equb rely on them. We keep them only for the period Ethiopian law requires for financial records, then delete or anonymise them.
- Encrypted database backups that still contain your data are overwritten within 14 days.
If you are in an equb that has not finished
An equb depends on every member paying every round. If you belong to an equb that is still running, we close your account once your share of it is settled, meaning your rounds are paid and any payout owed to you has been made. When you contact us we will tell you what remains.
